Your submission will remain private within Aponte Litigation & Consulting, L.L.C., and will not be disclosed publicly without your direct involvement. You will remain in control of your story. We are making a purposeful effort to provide a trauma-informed process as much as possible. Is this only for victims of sexual abuse? What other types of abuse would qualify as needing to be reported?
While clergy sex abuse allegations against Mike Bickle are what have turned the floodlights on IHOPKC as a whole, this light has also unveiled a culture of silencing whistleblowers and victims of a wide variety of abuse. Since October 2023, complaints have surfaced regarding mishandlings of incidents falling under the categories of psychological, physical, and sexual abuse. We aim to collect as many stories as possible, so we can gain a clearer picture of all types of abuse perpetrated at IHOPKC.
In addition to reports of abuse, we are now providing potential whistleblowers a means to safely submit testimony or documents via confidential means so that sensitive information pertaining to abuses or potential crimes can be collected and preserved.
Is this reporting system separate from the work of attorney Boz Tchividjian?
Caleb and Boz are committed to advocating for justice and accountability on behalf of every victim of IHOPKC & Mike Bickle. While they have a collaborative co-counsel relationship representing the primary Jane Doe and other survivors, this reporting system is an independent endeavor.
Who is Caleb Aponte?
Caleb Aponte is a seasoned Missouri sex crimes prosecutor who has dedicated his career to advocating for victims of sexual abuse, domestic violence, and human trafficking. His background also displays a vigilance in holding institutions of power accountable, having served as a prosecutor in the Missouri Attorney General's office as well as on the Missouri Supreme Court's 'Combating Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence Commission.'
How are you keeping my information private? What contact can I expect upon submitting a report?
Our small team is under strict confidentiality regarding all reports received and is committed to a trauma-informed approach. Our goal is to cast a safety net far and wide so all stories of IHOPKC abuses can be gathered and archived. We are committed to connecting survivors with ongoing resources so they can easily file reports to appropriate government agencies at the local, state, or federal levels if deemed necessary. Individual follow-ups will happen on a case by case basis, but every story will be read, categorized, and treated with the utmost care and respect.
